Virtual Therapy

Virtual Therapy

NOW ACCEPTING NEW REFERRALS

Virtual Therapy for Individuals and Couples

Virtual therapy allows you to set up a safe and comfortable therapy space that’s on your own terms. You can see a therapist from the privacy of your own home, surrounded with the things that make you feel most at ease. You might also consider having a session from another space that offers you the privacy and sense of safety to open up and speak freely- the choice is up to you.

Another benefit of virtual therapy is the convenience. Since you can attend online sessions from anywhere, you can save time and eliminate the hassle of commuting to and from the therapy office. Meeting via video can also allow you more time in your schedule to practice self care and make it easier to meet with your therapist more frequently, when needed.

Virtual therapy is also a great option for people who are either unable or uncomfortable with leaving their home due to physical, logistical or emotional challenges. Virtual therapy is a practical alternative to visiting a traditional counseling office.

Does Virtual Therapy Work As Well as Traditional Therapy?

While the convenience and flexibility of virtual therapy is clear, you may be wondering if meeting with a therapist online is as effective as face to face counseling.

When COVID-19 caused much of NYC to come to a screeching halt, virtual therapy gave many people the ability to retain support from their therapists. Research resulting from this period of time indicates that online counseling is as beneficial as in-person therapy, and that many people even prefer it. In fact, the demand for online counseling continues to grow.

If you’ve never been in therapy but have been considering it, scheduling a virtual therapy session is a great way to give it a try.

A Supportive and Collaborative Space Online

Many people have a difficult time asking for professional help with emotional difficulties. You may be fearful of the emotions that may come up, worried that you will feel judged, or don't want to be seen by others as incapable of solving problems on your own. No matter what issues you may be facing, my role as a therapist is to create a supportive environment that encourages skill-building and self-directed growth. I work both virtually and in person to provide a collaborative and safe space where all of your concerns and experiences are welcome.
