Are you ready to move forward toward the life you want to lead through anger management therapy?

Anger is a normal, necessary human emotion - it's a natural response to threatening circumstances. If channeled appropriately anger can be clarifying, energizing and liberating. It can motivate us to take better care of ourselves and to set important boundaries. However, unchecked anger also has the power to destroy our connections to ourselves and people in our lives. If this is a concern of yours, it may be time to consider finding an anger management therapist.

Anger is triggered when we face an individual, obstacle, or circumstance that we believe is blocking us from getting our needs met. It is usual for a person to feel angry when they’ve been mistreated, wronged, injured, or exploited. The experience of anger varies widely - how intensely anger is felt, how often it occurs, and how long it lasts are different for everyone.

If you feel overwhelmed by feelings of anger, therapy can help you to communicate more effectively, ask for the respect you want, set better boundaries, and find more effective ways of problem solving that help you get more of what you need.

Everyone deserves to feel heard, acknowledged, understood and accepted. My approach to anger management therapy in my NYC office is supportive, highly personalized, and builds upon your strengths. My goal is to create a comfortable environment that encourages your personal introspection and growth. Together, we’ll find strategies and techniques that help you express your anger in a productive way. Through anger management therapy, you can learn to identify feelings of frustration before they get the best of you and to make better choices in stressful and difficult circumstances.

Call or email me for an anger management therapy consultation today. I offer both virtual and in person sessions in my NYC office in the Flatiron area.

NYC Anger Management Therapy - What to Expect

The American Psychological Association found that NYC residents report stress levels that are higher than the national average. If you feel stressed by the intensity of your anger and you struggle to find appropriate ways to change it, anger management might be helpful to you.

Individualized therapy will provide you with strategies that help you to act effectively and in your best interests, even when you are feeling angry. Therapy can help you discover techniques to stop your anger from overwhelming you and to redirect your emotions toward more constructive expressions of yourself and your needs.

With counseling, you can learn skills that lessen the intensity of your angry feelings more quickly so that you can get back on track.

Through counseling, you’ll learn to identify circumstances in your life that lead to angry feelings and understand how anger is negatively impacting your quality of life. Once you become aware of your triggers and the thoughts and emotions associated with them, you can start to recognize destructive thought patterns and behaviors that are harming you and relearn positive ways of thinking.

You can learn to effectively deal with stressors as they arise in your daily life and act in ways that protect your personal and professional relationships.

How do I know if Anger Management Therapy is right for me?

The first step in effective anger management is learning how to recognize when you are angry. Most people experience a number of physical, emotional and behavioral cues to let them know when they are becoming upset. While everyone gets angry sometimes, it is important to know the difference between occasionally feeling frustrated and chronic feelings of anger that impact your relationship with yourself and others. If you frequently experience some of the signs below, you may benefit from anger management therapy.
